Get out and inspect your log home, deck, and outdoor wood surfaces before winter sets in

Fall is Here!

Now that fall is hitting us square in the face and we are wearing our sweatshirts, jackets, and long sleeved shirts don't forget about the condition of your outdoor wood surfaces, the weather is changing for it too.  After a long summer of battling the UV rays of the sun, rain, and wind your wood stain could use a little sprucing up before winter arrives.

The first thing is grab your most powerful flashlight, yes, even in the daytime hours!  Walk around your log home, cedar sided home, or deck running the light down each individual log, board, or shingle looking for signs of deteriorated stain, darkening, flaking, peeling, or just fading of your current protective stain.

What do I do if I find a problem area?

I'll tell you exactly what to do, visit a website that has a great reputation for quality wood stains, wood cleaners and brighteners, and wood preservers and call them to discuss your situation.  There are so many factors to consider, it is best to consult with someone who has vast experience in these matters like us here at LogStains.com or try Lovitt's Coatings or similar quality manufacturers of top shelf wood stains, sealers, and preservers.
